Written by James Delahunty @ 10 Jun 2014 7:12

E3 2014: Mario Maker lets you create your own Super Mario Bros. levels Mario Maker is coming to the Wii U console, and it lets you edit and play your own Super Mario Bros. levels easily.

At Nintendo's E3 press briefing it showed off gameplay footage of Mario Maker, displaying how easy it is to create complex environments and play them through.

The level editor shown looks like it will be a lot of fun to play with. You seem to be able to switch between "old" and newer graphics too.

Unfortunately this game doesn't come out until next year, however.

That's as far as they are willing to do with details for now though, and we're told to wait until QuakeCon next month for more information.

AfterDawn's 15th birthday Another year has passed and our dear site is now 15 years old. Yup, we launched the site in 1999, at the time when Google was still a small search startup and "social media" meant, for most people, watching TV with your friends.

I simply want to thank all of our staff members, moderators and users for keeping this site alive and kicking for all these years. These have been great years and I expect many more great years to follow.

Thank you.

E3 2014: The Order: 1886 full trailer shown at E3

Written by James Delahunty @ 10 Jun 2014 12:35

E3 2014: The Order: 1886 full trailer shown at E3 Sony's E3 press briefing contained many treats, and a new trailer for The Order: 1886 was one of the sweetest.

The trailer showed quite a dark side of Sony's upcoming action adventure title. It is being developed by Ready at Dawn and SCE Santa Monica Studio for exclusive release on the PlayStation 4 (PS4) console.

It is set in an alternative history/reality in which there are half-human, half animal "half breeds" that are being fought off by humans. The humans, however, are in a losing struggle.

No worries, because with the discovery of a mystery liquid called Black Water which boosts longevity significantly, combined with a way-ahead-of-its-time industrial revolution, the tide begins to turn.

In 1886, with humans in control things start to get bad again as the humans fight among themselves too. Take a look at the trailer and see some of the action we can expect.

E3 2014: Dead Island 2 trailer is full of laughs and obscene horror

Written by James Delahunty @ 10 Jun 2014 12:19

E3 2014: Dead Island 2 trailer is full of laughs and obscene horror Dead Island 2 has been officially announced at E3, and it comes with a very entertaining trailer for any zombie action fan.

The trailer isn't quite as wonderful as the original Dead Island trailer was, but it stand on its own merits. It follows a physique conscious jogger as he goes for a run in San Francisco while listening to music.

As music is pumping in his ears, the Zombie apocalypse is happening right behind him and he has absolutely no idea. For fans of zombie movies and games, the trailer is gruesome, bloody and awesome all in one.

Unfortunately for our poor jogger, he must have previously been infected because he transfers into a hideous zombie without breaking stride.. well until he is run over by a van and then has his trainers stolen.

The following Dead Island 2 trailer was shown at the Sony pre-E3 press briefing and confirmed for the PlayStation 4 so far.

I'm looking forward to this one. Let us hope it is better then Riptide.

E3 2014: Far Cry 4 opening minutes shows nutcase villain Pagan Min

Written by James Delahunty @ 10 Jun 2014 12:11

E3 2014: Far Cry 4 opening minutes shows nutcase villain Pagan Min Ubisoft kicked its press briefing today in the strongest way it could; by exposing us all to the insanity of antagonist Pagan Min.

Far Cry 4 ditches the sweltering Jungle and beach scenes for a fictional country called Kyrat in the snowy Himalayas, which is ruled over by a brutal self-appointed King called Pagan Min.

As you will see in the video (posted below), things get bad very quickly for protagonist Ajay Ghale, who gets caught up in a civil war to overthrow the dictator.

After he witnesses Pagan Min's brutal insanity flare up when he murders one of his own men, he finds himself posing for a selfie with the lunatic before having a bag thrown over his head.

Far Cry 4 is due to be released by around November this year, for PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Pagan Min looks like he will make for a great villain, be sure to check it out, but be warned, it is a scene of fairly brutal violence and the language is colorful.

Enjoy!
